I’ve had a bike of some kind or another most of my life. A Schwinn Springer Fork, shared with my brother, was ridden until it broke (down tube at the crank housing), many years ago. Little did we know that it was guaranteed for life, and could have gotten another. I had a road bike reject while I was in the Army in Germany, and a single speed skinny tire when I was going to community college and University after the Army. Since I live in the mountains, and everywhere I ride runs out of pavement sooner or later, I have a mountain bike, as does my wife. We also ride road bikes. They are both wonderful rides.
We live in the Sierra just west of Lake Tahoe. There’s more outdoor recreation here than can be seen or done in one lifetime. This blog highlights current events all over the area.
The is about all things outdoors, especially around El Dorado County Placer County, Nevada County, Alpine County, and Douglas County in Nevada, and Lake Tahoe in Northern California, with a Boomer perspective. I hope you enjoy what you find here.
